10th BlogAversary

Funny how we go from being totally involved to being totally absent with our blogs. Of course, I'm using the ROYAL WE! I'm even a day late this year. Almost makes me wonder if I'll remember at all next year. Too funny~

Until Next time...Happy Needling!!!

9th BlogAversary

This post is basically just an acknowledgement that I still have a blog - neglected as it is..........

I know that I need to do a complete revamp if I ever decide to pick up where I left off. So many of my links are bad, and lots of the blogs and various reference sites are out dated, too.

I find that I'm missing some early posts, including my very first post on the day I set up my blog. Don't know what's up with that but trying to get an answer out of Blogger is simply not worth the effort. I wish I done a Blog to Book like Pat Winter did, then I would have that (and any other missing posts) preserved. Oh Well.....

Have a good day and I might just be back at some point in time.

Until Next time...Happy Needling!!!

5 Years Today - Oh MY!

I've been so out of touch for so long that I, only by accident, realized that today is the 5th year anniversary of my blog. It's also National Left Hander's Day!

I'm hoping to be able to get back to blogging regularly before too long. Life dishes out the unexpected sometimes and that must be addressed above all else.

Thank you to everyone who takes the time to check in on me. And I sincerely apologize for not having anything here to read, see, or share in.

Good night all.

Until Next time...Happy Needling!!!

It's My 4 Year BlogAversary

I swear the only way I remember is because it's also National Left Hander's Day.

Well, to all the bloggers who have stuck it out for at least 4 years, and to all you lefties (aka southpaws) - cheers to you!!!!

My horoscope says that I should concentrate on something arty, so I'm going to do just that today.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Until Next time...Happy Needling!!!

Celebration Day

Today is my 3 year BlogAversary.

For those of you who don't already know, the name of my blog was inspired by the fact that I'm a Lefty (aka Southpaw). And because I love to sew, I chose the name Sewing Southpaw.

Yet it was purely a coincidence that I started my blog on National Left-hander's Day, which is also today!!!!

And how totally cool that all this took place on my favorite number day - the 13th. I guess, it was meant to be. LOL.

Here are some Left Handed Facts and Trivia (courtesy of Holiday Insights):

1. Sinistrophobia is the fear of left-handedness or things on the left side.

2. While many people are left handed, very few are 100% left handed. For example, many Left handers golf and bat right handed. On the other hand, there is a high percentage of righties who are 100% right-handed.

3. Lefties are also called "southpaws". The term was coined in baseball to describe a left handed pitcher.

4. Tuesdays are Lefties luck day.

5. Only about 10% of the population is left handed.

6. During the 1600's people, thought left handers were witches and warlocks.

7. International Left Hander's Day was first celebrated on August 13, 1976. It was started by Lefthander's International.

8. They say everyone was born right handed, and only the greatest overcome it. (he,he,he)

9. It is believed that all polar bears are left handed. Also see Polar Bear Day.

10. There is a rumor that octopuses have but one right hand. Scientists are diligently studying this issue.

To everyone who has followed my blog from the beginning, those who pop in from time to time, and those of you who are new or 1st timers, I say THANK YOU so very much for taking the time. It's wonderful to hear from you. I appreciate you all!

Have a great day and if you're a Lefty - kudos to you!

Until Next time...Happy Needling!!!

Checking In

Gosh, this unpacking and cleaning stuff is for the birds! I swear that these boxes reappear each night after I go to bed. LOL.

I've been so caught up in trying to get settled in that I completely spaced off the fact that yesterday was my 2 year BlogAversary and National Left Hander's Day.

I've been receiving blocks regularly for the STS-Summer block share and hope to have them all received and ready to send home by the first of the week.

I also have a FFT RR block to work on. The last block in this round robin - WOW - has this gone by fast! It seems like we just started. Anyway, I'm going to sit down, relax, and work on the block over the weekend.

Well, I guess that's it for now. The dryer is beeping at me and there is SOOOOOOO much left to do.

BTW, I love it here. DH and I have ventured out more in the past 2 weeks of being here than we did in the last year we were in Texas. The mornings are cool and bright and a wonderful way to enjoy coffee on the deck. The evenings are a little crisp but really nice for walking Fritz before bedtime.

Okay......I'm outta here!

Until Next time...Happy Needling!!!

Just Catching Up...

Good grief, I go away for the weekend and it's really tough to get back on track. But I'm going to try.

DH took me on a little long weekend retreat to the Texas "Hill Country" this past weekend. Partly to celebrate my One Year BlogAversary (yesterday) and partly for fun. We were able to visit with some very dear friends who have been making a go of trying to get settled for some time now. From what I could tell, they're doing just fine.

While we were there I stole some time out to work on another cell phone pouch, and actually managed to finish it up. Well, the needlework anyway. I'm probably going to have to put a charm or two or something else on it. I just don't seem to know when to call it quits. But I think it's looking pretty good right now. As some of you know, I'm not really a "blue" fan. I don't even eat bleu cheese.

I have completed a swap with Katrien from the Chains of Hearts (COH) group. I sent her the 'garden' themed heart. And in return, I received this lovely yellow, oh so 'spring like' heart from her. It's really a very nice piece.

Oh gosh, I forgot to post this. Katrien also very generously included these goodies with her swap heart. Along with a little personal information.

She and I are also in the CQN group together. Anyway, thank you, Katrien! (See her flickr photos here). Speaking of which....I'm starting to receive blocks for the swap I'm hosting. They are looking soooooooo GOOD! There is just so much talent and creativity out there. In the next couple of days I will be posting the names and website information of the participants. That way you can keep track of our progress, should you want to do that.

I'll also be posting some photos of our trip to Austin and sharing with you some of the really cool and fun things that we did. Until then, Happy Needling!
